Land of the Living

Black Tent Video was the title under which two Scottish visual artists with independent art practices, Kyra Clegg and Su Grierson also collaborated together, producing video and sound works relating to their common interest in perceptions of landscape and place. Their collaborative works have been selected for group exhibitions, film festivals and solo exhibitions in Scotland and abroad.

Land of the Living is the project’s title. The works are an eclectic mix of stimulating locations, documented performative events and thought provoking concepts that underpin our personal engagement with the multiplicity of place.

DEEP BENEATH WITHIN

(excerpts)

Deep Beneath Within looks beneath and outside of the normal levels of perception aiming to uncover an emotive and deeper subliminal response to the land. This is landscape as seen from the inner and imaginative perspective of the human viewer as opposed to that of the faithfully documenting lens of the camera.
