FOREST RELIQUARY

Forest Reliquary, Thinking like a tree

Forest Reliquary is part of a two year research project in which experimental studio work relating to effects of climate change became an important part of my ongoing practice. It references the trees and plants of forest habitats.

A reliquary is defined as a receptacle for relics – a place to treasure objects of importance. The natural forest material shown in these works are relics from storm damaged forest trees and plants which I have gathered on walks and reconfigured to form an empathetic connection with endangered wildwoods.

Exhibition: Birnam Arts as part of the Heartwood Artists’ group show ‘Transitional Space’.
